Let us get this straight right away; avocados grow on trees, therefore they are a fruit. Not only are avocados absolutely delicious, but unlike other fruits, they are low in sugar and full of vitamins, too. Specifically vitamins C, E, K, folate, and fiber. Now that we have gotten that out of the way, when deciding on the type of avocado that will serve as the centerpiece to your spicy guacamole dip, ask yourself a few questions. Do you prefer the large, green Florida avocado, which holds its shape better and is less slimy? Or do you prefer the Hass avocado, also known as the California avocado, which is slightly creamier and richer than its sun belt counterpart? Keep in mind that even though the Hass avocado is smaller, it is higher in fat, too. If you choose Hass, this means that the guacamole nutrition and guacamole calories of your spicy guacamole dip might be slightly higher. But do not let that deter you; it is the good type of fat.
